The Diploma

The Diploma

The Diploma is an exciting qualification designed to give students valuable skills for life. It involves hands-on learning which is fun, exciting and teaches the skills you will need in the future.

Diplomas - What’s involved?

The new diploma programmes are made up of English, Maths and Information Technology – the skills you will need in everyday life, along with your Diploma subject. You will gain skills in teamwork, creative thinking and problem solving that employers, universities and colleges really value. Your Diploma will also include a range of optional courses to choose from. These could be relevant to your Diploma subject, or something that reflects your other interests and career ambitions.

Each Diploma gives you the chance to work on a project, and you will get the chance to spend at least 10 working days working with an employer, experiencing what you are learning for real.

How are Diplomas assessed?

Diplomas allow you to learn through both theory and practice, and assessment involves externally marked exams and work marked at the College. On completion, an advanced Diploma is equivalent to three and a half A Levels.

What can a Diploma lead to?

Gaining a Diploma will open many doors for you. It will equip you with the skills you need for continuing in education and progressing onto Higher Education, while building valuable skills that are relevant to all employers.
