The College’s Gaming Academy, based at the College’s Bermuda Park Innovation Centre in Nuneaton, is one of just three in the country to offer a Gaming NVQ qualification with universal industry recognition, as part of the National gaming Academy. The Gaming Academy has also linked up with national industry employers to provide in-house training for croupiers and reception staff.
The purpose built training casino provides training in Roulette, Poker, Punto Banco, Texas Holdem and Blackjack, and trainees gain real experience by hosting corporate gaming evenings for businesses.
Please note, the minimum legal age for employment within the casino industry is 18 years of age. Prospective students may be 17 years of age when enrolling on our courses, providing they are 18 years of age by the end of the course.
Introduction to Casino Work
The College also offers eight week Introduction to Casino Work courses which run for 15.5 hours per week delivering the skills and knowledge for Roulette and Blackjack/or Poker while delivering the underpinning knowledge for the mandatory units of the NVQ Level 2 Diploma. If successful, students will then be enrolled onto the NVQ Level 2 Gambling Operations Diploma once offered employment. This will then be delivered to them by one of our subject specific Assessors in the workplace.
