|Introduction||This programme is aimed at those looking to go into the media industry or to build on their existing knowledge. Learners will study a combination of practical, creative and professional skills set in an industry-recognised environment. This course offers learners the chance to gain work experience opportunities, and build a professional portfolio of industry standard content.|
|Study Outline||A combination of: Moving Image and Audio Production; Digital Editing; Camera Operation; Cinematography and Composition; Advanced Film Studies; Commercial Work; Drama and Documentary Production; Live Projects and Film Making; Domestic/foreign Residentials; Exhibitions of Work; Production Management; Screen Design; Digital design for Moving Image. Opportunities for work placements with the CO-Operative British Youth Film Academy, local businesses.|
|Entry Requirements||A good portfolio plus one of the following: National Diploma with two Merits or Distinctions 120 Tariff Points. An International Baccalaureate with 24 points or an equivalent qualification or experience. Mature learners welcome.

|Equipment||Stationery, diary, external hard drive (formatted to BOTH Mac and PC) USB dives as well as a decent sized SD card for filming on to. Access to a Mac laptop would be a significant advantage, but not necessary.|
|Attendance||Two years, full time (Level 4 1st Year/ Level 5 2nd Year).|
|Assessment||You will be assessed several times in each individual module over the period of the programme. Classes are practical, sometimes run as workshops and most staff are practitioners currently working in their subject area.|
|Progression||Progression into the industry. Progession onto our Level 6 top-up year in Visual Media BA(Hons).|
