Mode Of Provision
The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering is designed to accommodate both a mechanical or electrical pathway. You will need to complete 6 units in total with 2 of these units being specific to the preferred pathway.
Suggested Units: Health & Safety in the Workplace (M), Engineering Materials, Mathematics for Engineering Technicians and Engineering Drawing for Technicians.
Optional units include Electrical & Electronic Principles and Electronic Devices & Circuits for the electrical pathway and Computer Aided Drafting in Engineering and Mechanical Principles for the mechanical pathway.
You will need an achievement in a level two qualification with a merit in maths; a good supporting tutor report (if applicable); Level two in literacy and numeracy or GCSE grades C English, Maths and Science.
Students will require the following equipment: A scientific calculator, basic drawing equipment, stationary.
1 full day for 34 weeks.
Your knowledge is assessed by practical assessments in an Engineering Workshop Environment, verbally and by assessments scripts set by the College.
On successful completion of the programme you may progress on to a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) pending suitable grades and attendance record. You may also be eligible to progress onto a HNC in Engineering following a successful interview.
