IntroductionParametric modelling is rapidly becoming the preferred method for the production of 3D models, assemblies and associated 2D/3D drawings used by industry. This award is a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) in Computer Aided Design Parametric Modelling. It has been designed by City & Guilds to meet the need for a more modern, up-to-date and flexible qualification.
Study OutlineOn this programme you will study: CAD hardware and operating systems, The parametric modelling process, Commands to create and constrain sketches, Commands to produce extruded and revolved features, Placed features to modify parametric models, Methods to create assemblies, The drawings layout environment to produce hard copies
Entry RequirementsThis is the introductory course for this type of 3D Modelling. No specific prior qualifications, learning or experience are required for candidates undertaking this qualification. However, candidates must have a sufficient command of English language to be able to follow written instructions for assignments and complete an online test.
EquipmentNo specialist equipment is required
AttendanceOne evening (2 hours) per week for 30 weeks.
AssessmentAssessment is by two assignments and one online multi-choice test.
