|Introduction||The HNC in Performing Arts will develop your skills as a performance practitioner, with a focus on Theatre and Community Arts, providing you with the skills to work as a freelance practitioner. You will work in specialist facilities on a range of performance and research projects. Making your own work,touring shows and delivering Workshops around the Midlands. |
|Study Outline||You will study a wide range of study units. The final selection will be determined by the range of skills within the student group. Currently units include Development of Acting Skills, Devising Performance, Creative Arts Professional Practice, Creative Arts Research Skills, Movement for the Actor, Workshop Leadership and Singing Techniques and Styles. |
|Entry Requirements||A minimum of grades MPP in Performing Arts at Btec Level 3 Extended Diploma level, or 180 UCAS points at A level (including at least one Performing Arts subject). It is strongly recommended that you have grade C in English at GCSE Or level 2 Functional Skills.

|Equipment||Specialist equipment will focus on appropriate rehearsal clothing and footwear. You will be expected to provide a means of recording your work in digital as well as written formats.|
|Attendance||Attendance is full time and the College expects an attendance of 95%.|
|Assessment||You will be assessed through continuous assessment over the two years of the course. Assessment methods will include performances, practical project work, research projects and evaluative essays. Progress to year two is dependent on the completion of year one assessments.|
|Progression||The Performing Arts industry provides a wide range of career pathways, including freelance work as a performer. There is the opportunity to take this qualification through to a Level 6 full degree through accessing a top-up qualification.|
