|Introduction||This programme focuses on music technology within the area of production. The course is aimed as an extension for learners who have already completed the 90 credit diploma in music technology.
If you are keen to have a career in the more technical side of the music industry and do not necessarily have instrumental knowledge, but would like to develop and understanding of this, then this is the course for you.
On this programme you will be developing a wider understanding of musical theory.|
|Study Outline||Modules covered can include; Acoustics for musicians; Delivering a music Product; Listening Skills for Music Technicians; Music Production Techniques; Music Theory and Harmony; Sequencing systems and techniques; Functional Music Keyboard; Audio Engineering principles; Music and sound for the moving image; Planning and delivering a music product; Sound creation and manipulation; Composing music; The sound and music industry; Marketing and Promotion in the music industry; Live Sound techniques.|
|Entry Requirements||Successful completion of the 90 credit diploma in music technology.|
|Equipment||8Gb memory stick or portable hard drive; On or over ear headphones (not in ear/earbuds); Stationary to include paper, pencils (variety of colours), pens, ruler, rubber, sharpener etc.|
|Attendance||One year, full-time.|
|Assessment||You will be assessed several times in each individual module over the period of the programme. This will include a variety of methods including presentations, portfolio work, written tasks, and a theory test towards the end of the unit.|
