|Introduction||This Apprenticeship is designed by industry specialists and the Institute of the Motor Industry to provide you with the skills, knowledge and abilities to become a Motor Vehicle Technician. You will learn how to carry out routine vehicle maintenance and inspections including servicing, repairing and replacing parts and maintaining records in a motor vehicle environment.|
|Study Outline||Examples of units you may cover include:
-Knowledge of health, safety and good housekeeping in the automotive environment
-Knowledge of materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
-Knowledge of support for job roles in the automotive work environment
-Skills in materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
-Competency in health, safety and good housekeeping in the automotive environment
-Competency in supporting job roles in the automotive work environment
You will also cover: Employment Rights and Responsibilities as well as Functional Skills Level 1 in Communication, Application of Number, and Information Technology. |
|Entry Requirements||GCSE grades A-D, preferably English, Maths and ICT. All candidates must sit an Initial assessment/Diagnostics (College entrance test) Level 1.

|Equipment||You will require steel toe cap boots, overalls, pen/pencil, notepad/folder and a memory stick.|
|Attendance||Four days per week in the workplace and one day per week at our Harrowbrook Training Centre over two years. |
|Assessment||The Apprenticeship will be assessed in a variety of different ways such as online tests, written assignments, college and work based practical tests.|
|Progression||Apprentices could progress to an advanced Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship programme.|
|Qualification||Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.|
