IntroductionThis short course provides an introduction to the body and paint industry and deals with light scuffs, repairs, painting and polishing. This will give you an insight on equipment used in industry and allow you to progress your ability that will help you in real live work.
Study OutlineHealth & Safety and PPE. Introduction to tools and materials. Identification of car panels and material. Introduction to spray guns. Introduction to types of primers and application. Applying base coats and solid colours. Clear coat and polishing.
Entry RequirementsExperience is not essential as this is a basic course for beginners
EquipmentYou will require steel toe cap boots, standard spraying mask, overalls, a pen and a note pad.
Attendance6 week evening courses from 18:00 - 20:00
AssessmentWith the development of using spraying equipment, this course could be beneficial towards Air brushing or light vehicle repair courses.
