Mode Of Provision
This course is designed to provide a broad education in Travel and Tourism as a basis for both training leading to employment and Higher Education. Students will develop the general skills, knowledge and understanding needed for a range of travel and tourism occupations or professions. This course is equivalent to three A-Levels
You will study four core units as part of this course: Investigating Travel & Tourism; Business of Travel and Tourism; The UK as a Destination; Customer Service; Preparing for Employment; European Destinations; Marketing; Responsible Tourism; Passenger Transport; Long Haul Travel; Tour Operations; Holiday Representatives; Retail Travel Operations; Researching Current Issues; Working as a Children's Representative; Specialist Tourism; Cruise; Visitor Attractions; Entertainment for Holidaymakers; plus English and Maths Functional Skills or GCSE as appropriate
You will need to be aged 16+ with a minimum of four GCSEs grade C or above, including Maths and English. Applicants should be committed and enthusiastic and will be interviewed and assessed for suitability to the course
No specialist equipment is required
Two years, full time
Written work is assessed on an ongoing basis. There are no external exams.
