IntroductionThis course is provided in partnership with the University of Warwick. You will study for two years at the College, then two years at the University of Warwick, with the option to choose a social studies or health and social policy pathway.
Study OutlinePolitics, Researching Culture and Society, Sociology and Health and Social Policy. Sessions of study skills are provided during the first year and you will have unlimited access to the study support workshops throughout both years. In your first year the course will provide a broad introduction to the subjects, while Year 2 provides a deeper focus on specific topics.
Entry RequirementsThis programme is intended to provide entry to degree level studies for people who, for one reason or another, lack the usual qualifications. Recent successful study experience of some kind and a reasonable standard of written English is an advantage. EquipmentNo specialist equipment is required
AssessmentIn both year one and year two, you will be assessed by means of essays written during the year,(contributing 50% of the total mark) and an examination at the end of each year (50%). Presentations are also a requirement of the course and some are formally assessed.
ProgressionA wide range of courses at the University of Warwick, including Sociology, Business Studies, Health and Social Policy, Lifelong Learning, Teaching, Philosophy, History and European Languages. You are required to take 120 credits in each of years three and four, in order to obtain an Honours Degree.
