IntroductionOCR Cambridge Technical prepares learners for working in the care sector. It provides a good basis to go onto a more advanced work related qualification or progress to Level 3
Study OutlineAll students will be enrolled on the full diploma. All undertake 8 units , these include Communication ,Individual rights, Individual needs ,Ensuring Safe Environments. You will need undertake a minimum of 100 hours in a placement setting that is vocationally relevant.
Entry RequirementsAged 16+ with a minimum of: Certificate: 4 Grade D passes at GCSE level;(including Maths and English) All students are required to have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS), this will be arranged by the college following interview.
EquipmentYou will require stationery equipment, uniform, which is to be worn whilst in placement, and text books.
Attendance1 year plan to complete the full diploma. Excellent attendance is required both in College and in the practical placement. Learners are required to attend all lectures.
AssessmentAll assessment is through assignment work.
ProgressionYou can progress ontoa variety of potential careers that you can explore as the qualification enables you to apply for employment in a supporting capacity for example as care assistant in a range of settings or progress onto level 3.
