IntroductionIf you are artistic and would like to be able to create floral designs then this is the course for you.
Study OutlineThe programme is ideal for school leavers with low GCSE grades. It may be suitable for those who wish to follow a vocational route in preference to GCSEs. The course is practical based with externally devised assessments running throughout the year. There is an online exam which assesses the Health and Safety aspect of the course. There is a strong element of confidence building, practical skills and basic/key skills development.
Entry RequirementsNo formal entry requirements, but a strong interest in working with flowers is necessary. You will will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm to succeed at interview.
EquipmentYou will require a tool box and the use of a camera.
AttendanceOne year, full-time (2.5 days per week)
AssessmentAssessment for this programme is based on successful completion of a portfolio of evidence, demonstrating practical skills and understanding of the subject. This course includes an online assessment paper.
ProgressionLearners will be able to follow a career path leading to progression on to the NPTC C&G Level 2 Diploma in Floristry
