Mode Of Provision
An introduction to the principles of healthy eating and how diet is closely linked to health. This includes studying the diseases that can result from a poor diet and the nutrients and food groups needed for a balanced diet. The qualification also examines the nutritional needs and energy requirements of a variety of individuals including special diets and food allergies.
The qualification explores the principles of healthy eating and considers the nutritional needs of a variety of individuals, including Food Safety.
You will learn how food labelling can be used to help plan a healthy diet. Also, you will gain an awareness of eating disorders and look at the principles of weight management and how diets can be planned to aid weight-loss and weight-gain.
The qualification is available for learners who are 19+ at the start of the Academic year. There are no specific
learning requirements but learners will need to demonstrate that they can fulfil the requirements of the awarding
body assessment criteria and comply with the relevant literacy and numeracy aspects of the qualification
Each learner receives a set of high quality learning materials comprising assessment booklets and knowledge and understanding books which are a valuable resource to keep for reference purposes.
The qualification is delivered over a period of 12 weeks.
Learners receive the support of a dedicated assessor and complete Unit Assessments to demonstrate that they have met the qualification learning aims and assessment criteria.
