|Introduction||Last year over 176,000 safeguarding alerts were reported to councils. Physical abuse and neglect was the main trigger for these alerts. This nationally recognised qualification considers the importance of dignity and safeguarding within the adult health and social care sector.|
|Study Outline||The qualification covers the following topics:-
Understanding safeguarding; Principles of dignity; Understanding duty of care; Understanding dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care.|
|Entry Requirements||The qualification is available for learners who are 19+ at the start of the Academic year. There are no specific
learning requirements but learners will need to demonstrate that they can fulfil the requirements of the awarding
body assessment criteria and comply with the relevant literacy and numeracy aspects of the qualification|
|Equipment||Each learner receives a set of high quality learning materials comprising assessment booklets and knowledge and understanding books which are a valuable resource to keep for reference purposes.|
|Attendance||The qualification is delivered over a period of 12 weeks.|
|Assessment||Learners receive the support of a dedicated assessor and complete Unit Assessments to demonstrate that they have met the qualification learning aims and assessment criteria.|
