|Introduction||This qualification is ideal for individuals looking to increase their knowledge and understanding of mental health issues.
|Study Outline||You will explore Stress, Anxiety, Phobias, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Dementia, Depression, Postnatal Depression and Eating Disorders and how these mental health conditions affect individuals and their lives as well as how they affect family and friends. You will explore common treatments, medical interventions and understand local resources available to individuals. The qualification also covers Mental Health Legislation and legal frameworks.|
|Entry Requirements||The qualification is available for learners who are 19+ at the start of the Academic year. There are no specific
learning requirements but learners will need to demonstrate that they can fulfil the requirements of the awarding
body assessment criteria and comply with the relevant literacy and numeracy aspects of the qualification|
|Equipment||Each learner receives a set of high quality learning materials comprising assessment booklets and knowledge and understanding books which are a valuable resource to keep for reference purposes.|
|Attendance||The qualification is delivered over a period of 12 weeks.|
|Assessment||Learners receive the support of a dedicated assessor and complete Unit Assessments to demonstrate that they have met the qualification learning aims and assessment criteria.|
