|Introduction||This qualification has been developed in order to address new legislation, reinforcing the importance of equality and diversity and ensuring that all learners gain an understanding of the different issues affecting equality and diversity in today's society, the community and the workplace.|
|Study Outline||The qualification covers a wide range of relevant topics including:-
How equality and diversity is monitored and how the rights of individuals are protected in the workplace; Developing an understanding of the potential inequalities which can occur within a community; The support services and groups which exist to ensure equality and diversity is maintained and the different characteristics that make us who we are|
|Entry Requirements||The qualification is available for learners who are 19+ at the start of the Academic year. There are no specific
learning requirements but learners will need to demonstrate that they can fulfil the requirements of the awarding
body assessment criteria and comply with the relevant literacy and numeracy aspects of the qualification|
|Equipment||Each learner receives a set of high quality learning materials comprising assessment booklets and knowledge and understanding books which are a valuable resource to keep for reference purposes.|
|Attendance||The qualification is delivered over a period of 12 weeks.|
|Assessment||Learners receive the support of a dedicated assessor and complete Unit Assessments to demonstrate that they have met the qualification learning aims and assessment criteria.|
