IntroductionThis award gives the learner an understanding of the application of the IET Wiring Reflations Seventeenth Edition. It provides a facility for individuals working in the electrotechnical sector to develop and/or enhance their knowledge of the Requirements for Electrical Installation.
Study OutlineThis qualification covers the full content of the BS7671: IET Wiring Regulations Seventeenth Edition (amendment three). The Regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, and also additions and alterations to existing alterations.
Entry RequirementsWhile there are no formal entry requirements for this course, applicants will ideally hold a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation. In most cases, learners will be working in the electrotechnical trade, or have recent similar experience. A good standard of English and maths will be necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are unsure if this is an appropriate qualification for you!
EquipmentThis qualification is theoretical in content, meaning no practical equipment is necessary. Learners will need pens/paper and a copy of the IET BS7671 Regulations book, which can be used to support during the onscreen exam.
AttendanceAttendance is on a Tuesday evening from 6-9pm.
AssessmentAchievement of this qualification is via an onscreen open-book exam, facilitated here at the college.
ProgressionWe also offer a range of other industry-relevant short courses, which learners can progress on to study. These include Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification of Electrical Installations, as well as the Level 4 Award in the Design of Electrical Installations.
