IntroductionLearners will gain a full insight into the Construction industry and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve a Level 2 qualification in Brickwork.
Study OutlineOn the course you will study: Health, Safety and welfare that will cover your own and employers responsibilities and the Principles of building construction, information and communication that will cover topics in: Types of building information; Environmental considerations; Construction of foundations; Construction of internal and external walls; Construction of floors; Construction of roofs and Communication using terminology for construction Scientifics and engineering principles.
Entry RequirementsThe entry requirement is the completion of Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork. Learners will have to attend an interview with a member of the Brickwork team. To successfully achieve the qualification a minimum attendance of 90% is expected. Personal PPE writing paper, drawing equipment and scale rule must be brought to all sessions.
EquipmentStationery equipment, including writing paper, pens, HB and 2H pencils, lever arch file, Architects scale rule and Personal Protective Equipment to include High-Vis Vest, Safety boots or shoes and recommended textbooks.
Attendance34 weeks, full time, three days per week.
AssessmentAssessment is via coursework, completed portfolio, practical assessments, practical phase test and end of unit multiple choice exam.
ProgressionNext steps are progression onto Level 3 Diploma in Brickwork.
