|Introduction||The Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT is Year two of a two year course.
Do you enjoy taking things apart to find out how they work? Do you want to progress to university? Do you want to work in IT? Do you have an enquiring mind? Are you interested in networking? Are you interested in gaining a nationally recognised vocational IT qualification accepted by both universities and employers? This could be the course for you!
|Study Outline||The units for year 2 may include the following:-
Career Development Planning
Object Orientated Programming
If you have not achieved a GCSE in Maths/English at Grade 4 or above you will be expected to study either functional skills or GCSEs in these subjects.
|Entry Requirements||You will have successfully completed year 1 of the programme and achieved the BTEC 90 Credit Diploma in IT.|
|Equipment||General stationery and a memory stick to save your work.|
|Attendance||The college expects a minimum of 90% attendance.|
|Assessment||All assessment is by coursework based assignments. There are currently no exams. There are 18 units over two years and each unit will have one or two assignments. Each unit is graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction. |
