|Introduction||The course is aimed at young people aged 16-19 who are not already in education, working, or training who are interested in IT.
The programme will provide you with support in developing your vocational skills. The aim of the course is to prepare you for progression onto a Level 2 course in IT.

Basic Programming Skills using Scratch and Raspberry Pi
Preparation for Work
Customer Service Skills
Budgeting and Money Matters
Web Page Design, Internet and Email
|Entry Requirements||There are no entry requirements for this course, however a commitment to studying and an interest in IT is desirable.
|Equipment||General stationery and a memory stick.|
|Attendance||The college minimum expected level of attendance is 90%.|
|Assessment||To achieve this qualification you will be expected to pass the Award and Certificate at Level 1 prior to taking the Diploma. Achievement is determined by the successful completion of the unit assessment.
Whilst taking one of our full-time courses you will also complete a programme of Functional Skills which could comprise of a combination of English and maths. These Functional Skills are an essential requirement for employment progression, higher education and other further education courses.
|Progression||You will have the opportunity to progress throughout the academic year by completing an Award and then progressing onto the Certificate. On successful completion of the certificate you can then progress into the Diploma.
On achieving the Diploma, you may have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 2 course in IT. You could also progress onto an Apprenticeship.
You have the opportunity to enter employment with a Nationally Recognised Qualification which demonstrates your ability to study and your proven abilities in English, Maths and IT
