IntroductionA one year programme outlining working in childcare. This is a one year programme examining all aspects of childcare. This includes working with children from birth through to 8 years of age.
Study OutlineThis includes working with children from birth through to 8 years of age. As part of the course you will study units such as: • Sharing learning experiences with children • Growth and development of young children • Respecting and valuing children • Healthy living • Self Development
Entry RequirementsThere are no formal entry requirements for this course, although an interest in care is desirable. For progression reasons it is important to understand that although this course will not require a DBS Police records check, should there be a wish to continue to higher levels there will be.
Equipment You will require stationery equipment, uniform, which is to be worn whilst in a practical child care placement, and text books.
Attendance One year, full-time. In addition there is a requirement to complete 100 placement hours.
AssessmentAll assessment is through assignment work.
