IntroductionDo you want to work with children and play an important part in their education and development? This Apprenticeship will prepare you to support the teacher in a school setting.
Study OutlinePearson's Edexcel Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STALIS) Pearson's Btec Level 2 Understanding Employment responsibilities and rights in Children and Young People's Settings (ERR) Level 2 OCR Functional skill in English Level 1 OCR Functional skills in Maths Level 1 OCR Functional skills in Information and Communications Technology Examples of units include: Child and Young Person Development. Communication and Professional Relationships with Children, Young People and Adults. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Work Children and Young People. Safeguarding the Welfare of Children and Young People. Support Children and Young People's Health and Safety. Support Children and Young People's Positive Behaviour. Support Learning Activities. With a choice of approximately three optional units.
Entry RequirementsEnglish at Level 1, Maths and ICT at Entry Level 3. If you're interested in becoming an Apprentice, you will need to be employed or find an employer who is recruiting an Apprentice. EquipmentThe equipment required to complete the Apprenticeship would be outlined by the employer and assessor.
AttendanceAn assessor would be allocated to undertake the varying framework components within the work place and would generally visit at least once a month.
AssessmentYou will be allocated an assessor where you will be observed in the work place undertaking planned tasks. A portfolio of evidence for this part of the qualification would also be undertaken where assignments would be set under the direction of the assessor. Understanding Employment responsibilities and rights in Children and Young People's Settings this component would be delivered through the Training Development Agency (TDA) workbook. All three aspects of the functional skills will be delivered within the workplace provision through a support platform of BKSB and varying resources to support your learning style, which will lead to exams to complete these overall components.
ProgressionYou could progress onto the Certificate or Diploma Level 3 in Supporting teaching and learning in schools. Once you achieve the level 3 qualification you could also progress onto a Higher Level Teaching assistant course or the Foundation degree.
QualificationUpon successful completion of the course you will achieve the overall Apprenticeship Framework for the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching Learning in Schools.
