IntroductionThis course will benefit anyone who is interested in obtaining a first qualification in accounting, giving a sound basis for further study at a higher level with the Association for Accounting Technicians. 
Study OutlineYou will study units on: Bookkeeping Transactions, Bookkeeping Controls, Elements of Costing. Work Effectively in Finance, and Using Accounting Software.
Entry RequirementsEntry requirements are either 5 GCSE at grade C or above, which must include both English and Maths, or relevant accounting/clerical work experience. Equivalent qualifications for the 5 GCSE's at grade C or above will be considered, but must still include GCSE English and Maths
EquipmentA standard calculator which has a 12 digit display will be required for the unit on Elements of Costing
AttendancePart time one year.
Assessment Units will be assessed by one of the following: Unit assessment only (online examination) Synoptic Assessment Only Unit assessment and as part of the Synoptic Assessment Each Level of qualification has one Synoptic Assessment, which tests understanding of a connections between range of topics covered during the qualification.
