|Introduction||This Apprenticeship will enable you to develop the skills needed to work as a professional Accountant who understands the needs of an organisation, its customers and the sector in which they operate.|
|Study Outline||AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting, which includes units in the following areas:
-Work Effectively in Finance
-Elements of Costing
-Using Accounting Software
You will also study Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths and English if not already achieved. You will receive training in Employment Rights & Responsibilities, as well as Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.|
|Entry Requirements||Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians is required to commence the assessments and you will be assessed before entry.
You will need to be employed or find an employer who is recruiting an Apprentice.

|Attendance||One year day release college attendance combined with work-based assessment visits.|
|Assessment||Computer-based assessment centrally set and assessed by AAT, combined with work-based assessment visits.|
|Progression||Progression to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Accounting.|
