|Introduction||Provides senior buyers, contract and supply chain managers with the expertise to improve organisational procurement and to fulfil organisational objectives. It gives you the knowledge base to reduce cost, improve quality and timescales, manage the supply chain and deal with legal issues.|
|Study Outline||On completion of this unit, candidates will be able to explain plans, designs, processes or systems for the improved control or improvement of operations. This unit is designed to enable those involved in procurement and supply to appraise the main techniques that improve organisations' operations.
Operations management refers to the process of converting input resources into the outputs of products or services that occur across a wide range of sectors such as in
manufacturing, construction, retail, services and public sectors. |
|Entry Requirements||CIPS Level 4|
|Equipment||No special equipment necessary, you will be provided with a course text and the CIPS study material.|
|Attendance||Your sessions will be on a Thursday evening between 6pm and 9pm|
|Assessment||All units are assessed via an examination, CIPS examinations for qualifications units are hand written and paper-based.
South Leicestershire College is an approved examination centre for CIPS so you can sit your exam at the college.

|Progression||One of the other Level 5 modules, if all five modules are complete then you can progress to the Level 6 Professional Diploma.|
