IntroductionThis is a QAA approved qualification at Level 3 to provide Access to Higher Education for those learners seeking a career in a the Creative Arts or Media Profession. The course is a one year full-time course over two evenings (Monday and Wednesday) enabling 19+ learners to be able to study at NWHC and then progress to university to study on a 3 year degree course, or with us on one of our HNC/HND programmes. Whether you are looking to progress your career, or change direction, this course can provide you with the platform you need. Access to Higher Education courses can be funded through a 19+ Advanced Learning Loan. If you take out an Advanced Learning Loan to study an Access to Higher Education course, the loan will be written off once you complete a subsequent Higher Education course.
Study OutlineYou will study a range of Creative Art and Media based modules that have been chosen to facilitate progression to a relevant university course and include; drawing, animation, exhibitions and more.
Entry RequirementsYou will be required to pass an Access initial assessment. There may be the requirement for additional studies for those students who need to gain GCSE English or Maths qualifications at grade C or above.
EquipmentPlease discuss this with course tutors at the point of interview.
AttendanceFull time is 2 evenings per week 16.30 - 21.30 for one year.
AssessmentAssessment is a mix of coursework, practical elements, presentations, written pieces and exhibitions.
ProgressionStudents who achieve the Diploma can be accepted for university degrees through NWHC or a university, in professions such as: Fine Art, Media, Animation and many more.
