Childcare courses at South Leicestershire College

Our courses aim to prepare students for a successful career in the early years and education sector. We do this by combining a mixture of classroom learning alongside work placements in a childcare setting, to support you to achieve your goals and leave fully prepared to work in the sector.

Caring for Children – Level 1

This one year course will provide an introduction to all aspects of childcare, working with children from birth through to 8 years of age. Please click here to find out more

Early Years: Education and Care – Level 2

This course prepares you to work with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the Early Years Sector, developing the practical skills and understanding in the principles of children’s care. Please click here to find out more

Early Years: Education and Care – Level 3

This course prepares you to work with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the Early Years Sector. Building on from the Level 2 qualification, students will also have to complete 400 hours placement hours within different settings as arranged by the College. Please click here to find out more
