New Logistics course on offer at NWHC

North Warwickshire & Hinckley College is offering a new full-time Level 1 Logistics course from September 2017.

The Logistics industry is all about transporting goods to where they’re needed. Almost every organisation requires some form of logistics, from managing a supply chain to transporting goods and passengers to worldwide destinations.

As a Logistics students you will be based at our Harrowbrook Training Centre, a real life logistics workplace, working with industry-standard equipment and tools. In addition, you’ll be taught by experts in the field as all our assessing and teaching staff have previously worked in the sector.

Level 1 Business Awareness for the Logistics Sector

 This qualification is designed for those new to or preparing to work in the logistics industry. The qualification will give learners the opportunity to develop their business awareness and understanding in a logistics environment and will address employer demand for better customer service in logistics organisations.

Developed in partnership with industry specialists to provide an introduction to the logistics industry, this qualification specifically bridges the gap between existing qualifications in customer service and in logistics and provides an introduction to the logistics industry. 

You will study the following areas:

Entry requirements

You don’t need to have any specific prior learning requirements to take this qualification, but you may find it helpful if you’ve already achieved an Entry Level qualification. GCSE Grades D – G, initial assessment levels entry 3 – level 1 in English and Maths, good report from school, good attendance and attitude to match. 


Assessment is internal and through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit.
