If you’re looking to gain an insight into the world of Engineering and the future prospects it holds, our Engineering courses will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to work in this vast and exciting field. We also have strong links with a number of local employers in the field including MTC, Profab and Toyota.
All students studying engineering will be taught at our Nuneaton Campus, home to our £1.5m Engineering Centre that houses specialist high-tech equipment including CNC and CAD machines and a 3D printer!
Engineering courses available to study from September 2017
Electrical Installation - Level 1
This course is suitable for learners who want to work as electricians in the building services engineering sector. This qualification does not make learners fully qualified electricians but allows them to learn and develop the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electro-technology sector. Electrical Installation - Level 2
This course is suitable for learners who want to work as electricians in the building services engineering sector. This qualification does not make learners fully qualified electricians but allows them to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electro-technology sector. Electrical Installation - Level 3
The course builds on work done on the Level 2 Electrical Installation course and is aimed at learners wishing to train as electricians but who are not currently employed in the industry. You will cover units in Electrical Science, Electrical Installations, Health & Safety in Building Services Engineering and Fault Diagnosis. Please click here to find out more
Engineering - Level 1
This course is designed to provide you with an introduction to the Engineering sector, giving you the opportunity to develop basic techniques, allowing you to demonstrate and recognise how engineering can open up an exciting career. With an emphasis on gaining the underpinning knowledge required to progress, this course will help you gain skills & knowledge in engineering skills that can apply to many different types of engineering, including, interpreting engineering drawings and engineering marking out. Engineering - Level 2
This course will help students to develop their knowledge and understanding of engineering by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context. The study programme teaches you about the many aspects of engineering including electronics, mechanical, health and safety and mathematics. Please click here to learn more
Engineering - Level 3
This course focuses more on the specialist work-related tasks within engineering, continuing to develop students’ knowledge and understanding of the field to progress into further employment or on to higher level study. You will study a range of modules such as engineering design, machining techniques, and health and safety in specialist engineering workplaces. Please click here to find out more
Computer Maintenance - Level 2
This course focuses primarily on computer hardware. Students are taught to develop their practical and academic knowledge in computing with a variety of tasks designed to be informative and enjoyable. Students will learn about the main components that are used to build a computer and the everyday problems faced by all aspiring technicians. The course covers both Level 1 and Level 2 in a single year so people with little or no knowledge of the subject have a realistic starting point for their future. Please click here to find out more
Computer Maintenance - Level 3
This Level 3 course will encourage students to interface with the inner workings of a computer system. Following on from the units at level 2 this course will provide an in-depth view of a computer system and its functions. This Includes networking, maintenance and data security.
