Why choose College?

Is school compulsory after year 11?

No – the government has raised the age which young people have to stay in education or training but this doesn’t necessarily mean staying in school.

Young people finishing year 11 in 2014 have the option to either:

  • Stay in full-time education with a College, training provider or at school
  • Start full-time work or volunteering combined with part-time education or training
  • Do an Apprenticeship
