Equality & diversity
The College is committed to equality of opportunity for staff, learners, members of the public and community groups, on all sites, and all others who come into contact with College representatives.
Our commitment to equal opportunities means that the College will take action to ensure that all these groups are entitled to equality of opportunity regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, class, marital status or employment.
Our Equality Objectives for 2013-2015 are:
- Advance equality of opportunity between all student groups in education and training; and to promote inclusion through dynamic governance and leadership.
- Enhance the teaching, learning and assessment environment, ensuring it is safe, supportive and anti-discriminatory; and to raise aspirations, success and progression opportunities for each individual.
- Promote equality and diversity in order to have a positive impact on the releasing of the potential of all staff, learners, employers and the community we serve.
The College has an approved Equality Scheme with the objectives outlined above.
The annual equality report shows how we have been progressing in meeting those objectives and ultimately moving towards meeting the aims off the Equality Duty. The Equality Scheme is an evolving document and is currently under review and a revised version will be published in April 2016.
