Celebration of Achievement

 

An annual night of celebration for North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College!

The event brings together students, staff and their families and friends together under one roof to celebrate their amazing successes and achievements from the academic year.

Our most recent event took place at the impressive Jurys Inn in Hinckley on Monday 26 November, where students from the North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College group gathered to receive a variety of awards.

Event Highlights

A graduation ceremony for those students who have recently completed a Higher Education course with NWSLC.

An awards ceremony, ‘STAR awards’ for those from each college directorate who excelled during their further education course, awards included the:

  • 14-16 Rising Star (incorporating all 14-16 provision, including Inspire)
  • Student of the Year – Business & Professions
  • Student of the Year – Core & Foundation Studies
  • Student of the Year – Creative Arts & Digital Technologies
  • Student of the Year – Health & Life Sciences
  • Student of the Year – Transport (including FLT), Logistics & the Built Environment
  • Student of the Year – Sport & Service Industries
  • Apprentice of the Year – Business & Professions
  • Apprentice of the Year – Creative Arts & Digital Technologies
  • Apprentice of the Year – Health & Life Sciences
  • Apprentice of the Year – Sport & Service Industries
  • Apprentice of the Year – Transport (including FLT), Logistics & the Built Environment
  • 16-18 Student of the Year
  • Adult Learner of the Year
  • Higher Education Star Student
  • Bright Star Award (cross-college – for students who are an excellent role model to their peers)
  • Principal’s Prize Student of the Year (cross-college – for exceptional students who have gone out of their way to develop themselves and achieve)
  • Competition Squad Star Member 
  • Guest Speaker - Penny Power OBE 
  • Student Performance – NWHC Creative Arts Students performed for award winners and guests, a 'Musical Medley'
