North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College offers specialised Forklift Truck Maintenance Apprenticeships – available to join now.
John Marvin, Learning and Skills Manager for the Forklift Truck Apprentices at the College tells us more:
“Ideal for businesses of all sizes, this training programme is designed to teach Apprentices how to repair and maintain Forklift Trucks. They will gain experience of working on a variety of gas, diesel and electric mechanical handling equipment including; Counterbalance, Reach, Powered Pallet, Order Picker and Hand Pallet Trucks.”
“We offer the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship at Level 2 and Level 3. The programmes are designed by industry specialists and the Institute of the Motor Industry to provide Apprentices with the skills, knowledge and abilities to become a Forklift Truck Engineer. They will learn how to carry out routine forklift truck maintenance and repair, inspections and diagnostics, while maintaining records to industry standards.”
“With relevant industrial experience, Apprentices could progress to a Level 4 Certificate in Advanced Automotive Studies for Master Technicians (QCF) or a Higher National Certificate.”
“They can also progress to full-time employment in roles such as Field Service Engineer.”

“Alongside this, we offer a vacancy service. If you would like to recruit a new employee, we provide a recruitment service that will support you to advertise your vacancy, shortlist applicants and carry out assessment and interview.”
“Once you have selected a candidate, we will arrange the Apprenticeship Training and provide you with ongoing support from an assessor who has knowledge of your industry.”
