Electrical Installation Apprenticeship – perfect for aspiring electricians

North Warwickshire & Hinckley College are currently offering the Level 3 Electrical Installation Apprenticeship, starting in September 2017.

The programme is ideal for organisations who are looking to upskill current employees or recruit new staff members into Electrician job roles.

Targeted at those within the building services engineering sector, the course covers:

  • Health and Safety
  • Environmental Technology Systems
  • Overseeing and organising the work environment
  • Planning, preparing and installing electrical systems and equipment
  • Terminating and connecting conductors, cables and flexible cords
  • Inspecting, testing, commissioning
  • Fault diagnosis and correction

The programme takes between 3 and 3 and a half years and Apprentices work as a paid employee for four days per week and study for one day per week at the College.

Sarah Ogden, Employer Engagement Advisor at the College said: “The Apprenticeship route is proving to be an extremely popular option amongst local employers. Not only does this training option allow them to address their specific skills gaps, it’s a genuinely effective way for them to ‘grow their own’. By the time they finish their programme, Apprentices have in-depth knowledge of their job and are also in-tune with the organisation’s culture and people, leading to extremely strong employer-Apprentice relationships. According to the National Apprenticeship Service, over 70% of Apprentices stay with the same employer once they complete their programme.”
