Those on Construction Apprenticeships are being encouraged to take a look at the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
What is CSCS?
Tim Forster, Learning and Skills Manager (Transport and Built Environment) at North Warwickshire & Hinckley College discusses:
“CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry. It provides evidence that all those working on a construction site hold the required skills and qualifications needed to do their job effectively and safely.
“Although it is not a legal requirement to hold a CSCS card, it is considered best practice. Most contractors and major house builders will require their workers to hold a valid CSCS card.
The Scheme is delivered under contract by CITB.”
Here at North Warwickshire & Hinckley College, we provide the qualification and test for £150 and the renewal for £30.
“This is an essential addition to any Construction worker’s CV and the ideal way for businesses to ensure they are complying with Health and Safety regulations. Also available to new and current Construction Apprentices.”
Sessions will be held each Wednesday, 9.00am – 3.00pm at the College’s Construction Training Centre, Harrowbrook Industrial Estate, Nuffield Road, Hinckley, LE10 3DT.
Payment will be required before the test.
